Per a recommendation, I went to Sushi Mon to sample one or two sushi rolls from their menu. It’s a small shop, which is not a problem. If you are the type who likes to go to small spots with large parties, I highly recommed getting there as soon as the doors open. Having arrived just as the doors opened for business, it was not crowded. That’s not to say that the restaurant does not draw a crowd as the evening progresses.On to the sushi. I ordered spicy shrimp and crunchy shrimp. Both were good and fresh. Since this was a quick visit, I was not in my usual mood for a degustation. I will have to go back to try some other maki rolls and items from their menu. For a first pass, I’ll say that it was a good choice for a quick bite. chicagoalphabetsoup.com
