I tell everyone about this place. I get the beef sandwich dunked with hot and sweet peppers. Honestly the best sandwich I have ever had. I absolutely love the atmosphere of Portillo’s. so many different menu items to chose from and you never have to worry about finding a seat. They have an upstairs and a downstairs for sitting arrangements. The staff moves at a very fast pace so I got my food fairly quick. I can’t wait to take my family to the one that opened up in Tampa. I hope it is just as good as this one!
Had the pleasure of attending a soft opening tonight. First, the space is gorgeous. The layout is inviting and comfortable. The spacious bar offers purse hooks and has outlets available for patron use (love this feature). The bar staff was impressively knowledgeable about the drink selections. There is a great variety of craft beer on tap (which we learned is easy to track online as selections will be constantly rotating) and at least one cider and a couple wines…that’s right, wine on tap!Everyone was genuinely excited to tell us about the space. We had a great sampling of the highlights from the menu. As great as the food is, save room for dessert because they aren’t messing around!!! Chef Eddie has built a well balanced and diverse menu. You can really tell that this menu was well thought out. After hearing about the things they have planned for short ribs and the my undying love of shrimp and grits pretty much guarantee a return to buffalo grove!
Honored to be here for the opening event with Ken Waks and Meghan Phillipp !!Gorgeous space with fireplaces throughout, a cozy yet sophisticated and modern feel. Interesting mix. Wonderful patio and outdoor space!Duck pastrami salad. Meet with the beer master and had dinner fancy flights of beers, including Ambergeddon and the Ten Commandments, which was my favorite – chocolatey, malty taste. Bread pudding was great but missing some of the crunchy outer texture I’m used to.
