The seafood buffet at the el dorado hotel=casino in shreveport. What a let down. Had read about the buffet and finally decided to give it a try. Opens at 4:30 on Friday night. Went in just after 5. Stood in line almost an hour. And what a let down. The iced tea was the best part of the $25 meal. $25 each. No king crab legs. Had been told by a manager and an operator and a cashier on the phone that was the feature item Ha. Guess they think snow crab is the same. Not. Had fried oysters way overcooked. Fried shrimp way over breaded and greasy. Yuk. Good green beans. Canned or frozen sweet potatoes. And what can I say about the snow crab. A lot of work and waste for very little crab meat. Would never ever go again. Just not worth it all all. The money ( though one meal was comped) and the standing in line and the clamor. I will go to a sit down restaurant from here on. Even at double the price. But husband wanted to try it so we went. He too says never again. Never refilled our water or tea and we were in there more than an hour. Hm, no tip. Why do you think. I may go at lunch some time, but never again a featured buffet. Oh had an ice cream or ice milk cone for dessert. That was at least ok. But never ever again.
New and Improved. I was happy to see The Buffet undergo a remodel. The new look is great. The food is mighty tasty! My favorite night to go is for Steak and Shake. The best improvement they made is to the dessert station. WOW! The chocolate pyramids melt in your mouth. Try a few things from the desserts. One of the best casino boofets in Shreveport-Bossier!
Went for Seafood night on Friday. Waited over an hour and half in line to eat. That didn’t sour our taste (well a little). The food was great. The crab legs were a little cold but overall it was good and we will go again (just a little earlier to try to beat the line of people). Had a really friendly server who went out of her way to help. The folks behind the counter were friendly as well. Desserts were some of the best we have ever tasted at a buffet. Hubbs loved the mousse pyramid. Marinated salads (mushrooms, tomatoes) were all marinated in the same (not so tasty) italian dressing. Overall, great experience and tasty food. (Perhaps when they did the reno they should have made more seats/tables as they advertise on tv like crazy and the people do come).
Nice Change. The newly remodeled buffet at the Eldorado looks nice. Very fresh and open design. The food remains much like before, just a nicer presentation. That’s ok the food is mostly good. Like all buffets there are hit and miss dishes. The Sunday brunch features an omelet station for custom made omelets. The young lady making them was super friendly and seamed to really enjoy cooking, a big plus at a buffet. I had a seafood omelette with shrimp, crawfish and crab. It was large and quite tasty. Other good dishes included the pizza, guacamole, pancakes, and a large selection of veggies and carved meats. I’m looking forward to trying the Friday night seafood buffet, it’s been good in the past, and I really like the new decor.
