Best Mexican food in St. Louis outside of Cherokee Street.
El Paisano. Fantastic food, service was awesome – great outdoor seating. Ordered and literally 10 minutes later I had my food. Beware the margaritas though, they are quite large!

Good Food… Great Service. I find the food to be adequate… but the service has been nothing short of outstanding… every time I’ve been there. I was a little put off by being charged extra to have my tacos served Mexicano vs Norte Americano…. (cilantro & onions vs lettuce & tomatoes). Other than that… a good dining experience.
Great food and ambiance. Not only is the food great, but I really like the look of this place as well. . It’s got a really cool vibe inside and out. Ask the guitar player to tell you the joke about the Mexican Maid.

El Paisano. I’ve been here a hand full of times now in the last few months. This place has great food at a good price. The service is fast, good and friendly to say the least. I’m stuck on the Tuna Fajitas they are so good…. It’s something you don’t see in all Mexican restaurants. My girlfriend and son love this place as well. Colleen enjoys the black bean option over the typical re-fried beans you get at most Mexican joints.
