3 course lunch. Basic delicious 3 course prefixed meal price was perfect. Course were delicious. Every day for lunch its a set menu for that particular day I wanna go every day of the week and see what they have to offer. The lunch also made me curious about going back for pre fixed meal for dinner.

Really…doesn’t live up to the hype…. 5 of us crowded around a 4-top…server waxing poetic about how we should share our food, but failed to mention the portion sizes don’t support the concept…apps were interesting, highlight of the meal…the chef should steer clear of seafood: 2 dishes, both miniscule, overcooked, overwrought, flavorless, the sea bass wasn’t sea bass…the steak was good, the meatloaf was some kind of cruel joke perpetrated by the kitchen…didn’t bother w/ dessert..ambiance nonexistent, noise level very high….I could go on, but…

Precious and Overpriced. I appreciate that food is locally sourced and preparedIn a unique way. I love Farmhaus and I have a meal thereOnce a month. But does it have to be SO EXPENSIVE? I think you need to get REAL.You’re in the Lindenwood Neighboeho

What a perfect special occasion restaurant! We went for our 29th anniversary and loved every minute and every bite. We decided on the 5 course chef’s tasting starting out with a quail egg and MO caviar a top a blini, then a compressed melon salad with lobster, sweet corn cream soup, a peach sorbet palette cleanser, pasta with bacon, pork loin and finally goat cheese ice cream with a tempura fried apple slice. Honestly, I’m almost woozy with pleasure. Warning, you stand a much better chance of getting reservations on a week night.

Good food, but WAYYYY overrated. I was excited for my first visit to Farmhaus (last night for V-Day), but left knowing that I would never return. My wife and I are both down with the small plate/tapas themed restaurants and thought the gastro-pub approach at this place seemed like a sure thing. We started off with the butcher’s plate ($29) and were disappointed when a typical meat and cheese plate (most of which was fatty meats) with a few pickled vegetables was brought out. To put things into perspective, Sydney St. Cafe or the old Monarch had similar (and better offerings) for around $14. Then came our dinners, my wife had the grouper ($26 for a 4 oz portion) and I had the meatloaf ($20 for about the same portion). Both items were very tasty, but in both of our opinions way overpriced, probably to a tune of about two fold. They’re beer and wine list is pretty good and decently priced. Bottomline here, there are better restaurants for less money that have much nicer dining facilities. Worth trying, but do yourself a favor and frequent somewhere like 1111 Mississippi, Sydney St., or Vin de Set.

It was a treat to dine at Farmhaus, however, know what you are getting into. If you are an omnivore, are not price conscience, don’t need to stuff yourself, and appreciate creativity you will be quite pleased. This is not the straight ahead steak and potatoes eatery. The food is thoughtfully constructed, some with better results than others, but thoughtfully constructed none the less. The ingredient selection is exemplary and the wine list follows suit with sustainable selection like the Parducci vineyards wines form Mendocino Ca. The place is tiny with not much atmosphere, but the food is all it needs to make it a special evening. As the menu appears to be always evolving, do not take too much stock in old reviews as each dinner offers a new experience.
