It seemed authentic and ethnic italian but its very laidback. Not recommended for friends/ daytime. I havent been for the dinner. We ordered pesto pasta, meatballs, chicken entree and spaghetti. Meatballs were little bland while the pesto sauce was too less in the pasta. The flavour was good but I had to ask for extra sauce as my pasta was too dry. An average restaurant with all passionate baby-boomers serving. The crowd is also mostly baby boomers during daytime.

Good basic italian restaurant, great service. Pietro’s is one of those places that we go to for good Italian at a good price. The good, I have always been happy with dishes. good meatsauce for the pasta dishes, the kitchen will take requests. Like many StL places, plenty of provel cheese. I do like the dinner salad, but sometime the house dressing is used a little excessively. the price for the pasta and entree is very affordable. The service is one place where Pieto’s shines. Wait staff has always been very attentive. Any issues are addressed. On the rare occasion an ordering mistake was made, I have received an apology, offered a free dessert, etc.. Also, the bread both at lunch at dinner is fabulous, and plenty of it. cons: when busy, parking can be hard to find, may have to walk a couple of blocks. The decor could use a professional update. Has a very strong hotel feel, with bland colors and pictures in the dining area.We normally eat here a couple of times a month. So as you can tell we are fans, and have had a chance to sample most of the dishes.

We dined there for lunch today . We glance 3 tables over only to see someone holding a scoped rifle inside the restaurant! And pointing it at the ceiling. I spoke to the waitress as to how I was so upset by this. The group continued to pass this gun around… The manager completely ignored us never coming to address the issue at all.The waitress told us the group were regulars and that nothing would be done. I’ll never set foot in there again. And I will tell every one I know about this bizarre behavior.
