I had the pleasure of taking my wife and a friend of mine to lunch at Spiro’s. For anyone who is impatient, we had a wonderful time! For everyone else, read on!We arrived a few minutes before they open for lunch. Our waiter was very kind, and welcomed us as they were unlocking the doors. We were then greeted by Niki, who was a pleasure to meet. Everyone made us feel very welcome. I can not think of any other time that a restaurant has made such a wonderful impression before I even took my seat. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. Like others have said, there are nice white table cloths. Overall the restaurant is very nice inside. We decided to try a few appetizers. We got the Saganaki, which they light beside the table. The saganaki smells amazing when they light it, and went very well with the warm bread that they bring out to the table ahead of time. We also ordered Spanakopita (spinach Pie), which was very good. For something different, we tried the Basket Of Marides (small battered and fried fish) which was very good as well.My friend ordered a greek salad, that looked exactly how it is suppose to (my family is Greek). He was very pleased with his salad, and the olives are wonderful. Yes, I had to wrestle him down to get the olive, but it was worth it!My wife ordered a salad that had different fruits in it, and Salmon on top (I unfortunately do not remember the name). She really enjoyed her salad. EDIT: (a few hours later) She said it was the best salad she ever had, and it was the best Salmon she ever had. Impressive.I had a taste for a gyro for some reason, so I tried the chicken gyro. My chicken gyro was very good, and came with a side of fried potatoes.Overall the experience was wonderful, we hope to visit again!

My friend and I are from a town that doesn’t have any Mediterranean or Greek places to eat. So, while we were in St. Louis, we wanted to indulge in some local Greek food. There were quite a few to choose from, but we are so glad we chose Spiro’s. When we first walked in, we immediately felt underdressed in sweatshirts and jeans. The interior is very nicely decorated w beautiful decorative pieces, as well as white tablecloths on the tables and a very nice bar in the back. However, the staff immediately made us feel very welcome and said everyone is always welcome. The menu had a very good selection of popular greek dishes, and everything was reasonably priced. We asked the waitress to surprise us w an appetizer, and she came out w hummus, which was excellent. My friend enjoyed the Tilapia special, which was a light and smooth w a slight zing from the capers, and was served w a side of fried potatoes and steamed veggies (both excellent). I myself went w the classic gyro sandwich. Their gyro meat comes off a rotisserie, and is not from a freezer and then thrown on a grill to heat up. I always add feta cheese to my gyros, and it completed my very tasty gryo sandwich. I opted for a Greek salad instead of fries, which was unique in its sweet dressing, but overall a very enjoyable blend of flavors and textures w the feta cheese and Greek olives. We finished our meal w a traditional greek dessert, topped w honey and served w ice cream. Let’s just say we scraped the plate clean. The entire staff made a point of saying hi and checking on us, including one of the owners, Nikki, who explained how she started the place w her brother Nick (yes, just like in the movie ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’). Just for the hospitality alone, we would go back to this place. WONDERFUL little local Greek place, and we definitely will return again!
