I was so psyched to go to this location since I had heard it rocked. I was not dissapointed. The downside. The store is very small with limited seating. But…, who cares. It’s Ben & Jerry’s. There was a long line on the Saturday afternoon I visited. I was greeted when I entered the store. It was very hip. Lots of posters showing upcoming concerts, events. Anyway. I ordered a 2 scoop combo- none scoop chunky monkey and the other chocolate therapy. OMG. I got it in a fresh made waffle cone. I upgrade with some hot fudge. This was amazing. Most ice cream places and all frozen yogurt places serve dumbed down ice milk, or yogurt. This was very creamy- dense and had huge chunks in my chunky monkey. The last bite was as good as the first. The price was just right. This was about 7 ounces of ice cream so it was a lot. All in all, the shop had the ambience, great product, and cool staff. I will come back even though I live 30 miles away. Great treat after a great burger at Blueberry Hill!!!
This store rocks. The ambience is great. The variety of flavors and products was wonderful. They carry low fat yogurt and no fat sorbet in addition to the full premiu ice cream. My wife had a double scoop of cherry Garcia in a fresh baked waffle cone and I had something never seen before called a Hot Milkshake. It had a thick texture and true to it’s name, was steaming hot. Quite a nice touch given the cold and snowy weather. The staff was very nice and quite entertaining. Secrecy in a night where there was a juggler and accordion player. The manager said they will he doing lots of entertainment every week. On our way out we bought a hand packed pint of new York super fudge chunk and chunky monkey. They actually put one flavor on the bottom and the other on top and even asked us which we preferred where. In this day and age of frozen treats or self serve fads like frozen yogurt it was nice to go to a place that was not only great product but a fun environment. It was a great time in the Loop. Blueberry Hill for burgers followed by Ben & Jerry’s. It really does not get better than that!
