Feel Offended ???. I’m not sure why this lady feels offended that she could not take her own food into a place that serves food. As somebody that has been in the service industry for over 30 years I’m pretty sure this is Standard Practice at any Restaurant. (No I do not work or Know anyone who works at Corner17 I just don’t like Restaurants taking negativity for some thing like this. My thought is if you dont like their food eat before you get there.I’m not familiar with their menu but I would also find it strange there was absolutely nothing on it that this woman would have eaten. Good Luck To Corner 17
Feel offended. Me and my bf went here to get something to eat today. My bf loved the food here but I’m not really a big fan of it, but I love theirs drink though. So I decided to buy something else and bring it in here to eat with him. I was ordering theirs drink too. When I opened the box to eat, the waiter told me that Im not suppose to bring outside food in here. I feel kinda offended because it never happen to me before when im here . And whenever I come in here and eat like that, i always have friends who come with me and order theirs food and drink, not like I just bring food in here & eat without ordering anything. They should have a sign in the front about not letting people bring outside food in or something like that. Also the front counter lady gave me a look when I first sit down at the table ( I think because she saw I was holding something) , that was kinda rude. This was the very very first time in life that I didnt leave a tip for somebody ( ps: my bf told them to put the stuff togo because he didnt want me to feel uncomfortable)
Quality Deliciousness!!!!. The only people that would have a problem with Corner 17 would be people who wouldn’t know what authentic Chinese (or any other Asian food for that matter) is prepared, presented, or what it’s supposed to taste like. THANK YOU CORNER 17 for finally bringing good hand pulled noodles to a city congested with overtly soy-sauced greasy rice and frozen Crab Rangoon. I’m a pastry chef and I have a fondness for all things made from scratch. The noodles are AMAZEBALLS I love them! The BOBA milk tea is always delicious and I always try to get something different. Ignore the ones who are saying that it’s bad. They suck at life and probably eat McDonalds on a regular basis. Go to Corner 17 for some good food. Also they’re fried rice….like nothing you ever tasted…in St Louis!
Response to ssh1. You arrived at 11:10 and your food came out at 11:15? So, what’s your complaint exactly?
Sub-par food, the service was a joke. Arrived there at 11:10 on a weekday. They opened at 11:00. It wasn’t until 11:15 that our food was served, and there were no other customers. During those 15 minutes, EVERYONE working there was eating lunch. I’ve worked at restaurants before, and I’ve never seen waiters and chefs eating lunch/dinner during regular lunch/dinner times, in the dining area, right next to their customers, and while their customers were waiting for food.I ordered a bowl of noodles with stewed beef, and my coworker ordered noodles with seafood. The noodles were good — hand made with the right chewiness. The beef and seafood were miserable; there were only a few bits of them floating in the bowls, absolutely nothing like some of the photos posted by some other users. And while were eating my miserable bowl of noodles, the workers were eating large plates of beef, huge shrimp, etc. If they wanted to have a buffet, that’s fine, just get out of my sight. The mango ice was good, and that’s the only thing that gives them a 10% chance that I might visit again. There are ABSOLUTELY much better choices on Delmar.
This place not only offers many types and varatiies of non-alcoholic drinks but makes homade noodle dishes!
What a neat place!. We came in for lunch today (Saturday) for the first time. This restaurant is a fusion between a bubble tea and traditional chinese cuisine. Modern interior. Even though it was quite busy, we were greeted and sat within 2 min. If you’re not planning on eating, you can just go right up to the counter and order a drink, which are delicious! They are all freshly made and are very satisfying on a hot Saint Louis afternoon. They make all their noodles fresh and have a clear panel so you can watch them make them, which is pretty cool. The menu is in Chinese (Mandarin?) as well as English and is pretty straight forward. There are a vast array of drinks, as well as appetizers, noodle dishes, fried rice dishes, and kebobs- (which are only available after (4?). For drinks, our group ordered pear juice, a mango slush, honeydew juice, and a papaya milk tea. All were terrific. Clean and refreshing tastes. Not sugary at all. For lunch we ordered beef w/noodles, ham and fried rice, and seafood noodles. Again, these were all delicious. Hefty portions at great prices. The restaurant also offers a homemade hot pepper flake-oil mixture that are on the tables, if you like a little extra heat!We had a mango fluffy ice for desert. These things are unlike anything you’ve ever tasted- unless you’ve had one before, in which case, you know how amazing they are. It is similar to shaved ice, but I think it’s made made from fruit juice. It has a very clean and pure taste, true to the fruit. The texture is almost like cotton candy, in that it breaks down very quickly once it hits the mouth, but I assure you, this treat is far superior. It is topped with fresh fruit and a mango syrup. A must try. So if you’re in The Loop, and you’re looking for a unique, upbeat, and affordable place to eat, don’t overlook Corner 17! This place is great!
