Very disappointed. I recently ate at El Potrero for the first time & it will also be my last. The complimentary salsa was the only thing I enjoyed here. My food & my friend’s food were very plain. A taco came with my meal & the meat had no seasoning at all! The meat was also very dry, which made me think it had sat it for some time, although we were there over the lunch hour on a Saturday. Normally I would try a restaurant a second time, but even the service was very poor.
This is an excellent Mexican Restaurant. Highly recommend.
Good Food Downtown. El Poterro has a new improved menu. Easy access from parking garage 1 block away if you can’t find on street parking. One thing that would improve the place is a little paint touchup and repairing broken and falling off tiles on the walls. The restroom has a strong urine smell. The food is very good as is the service but they really need to work on the inside if they want to compete with all the new places that will be coming next year with the Arena. We prefer locallly owned places like this over the chains
Really enjoyed the fajitas last time we we here. We had ones with beef, chicken, and shrimp.
Everytime I go I order the chimmichanga with shredded beef. It is absolutely amazing and filling. If im craving a sit down mexican meal, I always pick this place.
Soup’s Up!. The Caldo de Pollo is a must. Talk about a meal in a bowl! Tons of chicken, great flavor. It not often that you find soup at a mexican restaurant, but this meal is definitely worth trying, especially on a cold night.
Good food and at the right price!. Usually i’m a little wary about eating at a Mexican restaurant that I haven’t heard about but i was surprised by the cleanliness and overall appearance when I walked in. The staff quickly seated me and brought me a menu. There was an array of choices including authentic Mexican, some of their own takes on classic dishes, and included steaks and burgers. I told the waiter what I wanted to order and than started to snack on the fresh salsa and still warm chips. In only a few minutes i had my food in front of me, cheese still sizzling. The food was delicious and because of my enjoyable experience at this restaurant I constantly visit them and would put it in the top 5 mexican restaurants in town. I give it a 5 out of 5.
