Take the Good with the Bad. The value this place offers is amazing. I literally couldn’t believe it when I first visited this place. Me and my wife’s jaws literally dropped when we saw what looked like catering trays being bagged up for take out. The full size plate is served in a freaking catering tray! The prices are amazing, too. So much so, that you won’t believe you’re actually getting that much food. You’ll drop 13 dollars on short ribs (delicious) and fries and rice. You can sub out the fries and rice for salad, still for 13 dollars.The eating area in the back isn’t very nice, so we usually take our food to go.The service isn’t bad (like some other reviewers have implied) but it’s one of those local places that are VERY busy and don’t have a lot of time to waste on you. If you want to feel like a special butterfly, go elsewhere. But no one has EVER been rude to me. I was worried they might be because I don’t speak spanish (or portuguese for that matter) but they were obviously able to tell and sent up an english speaking cashier to take my order.If you’re having a few friends over (maybe Sunday for football!), go pick up some Elm Street BBQ. I’d say each full size plate EASILY feeds 2 people each.

BYOB Excellent B-B-Q. It’s a BYOB.You can’t beat the price or the food.For $6 you get enough food for two meals. The B-B-Q ribs and chicken are spectacular, as is the cod fish. You can also get Beef Kebabs, as well as chicken and shrimp.HOWEVER, the yellow rice and the french fries, as wellas the salad, OMG!!!!!
Omg best ribs ever. It’s a cop hangout but has the best ribs and chicken and fries and rice. Only place to eat in Newark.
