A Destination Restaurant. I had high hopes from all the positive Yelp! reviews and Seabras did not disappoint! This was one spectacular meal. The grilled octopus was to die for. The oysters are huge and succulent! This is authentic ethnic food… there is a bit of a language barrier but the waitstaff is very friendly and very helpful. *The Mariscada*- Lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops served in a tasty tomato sauce with a touch of cognac, accompanied by rice- is enough for two and at $24 is an amazing bargain! You can run up a very big bill here… but if you do you are leaving stuffed… really the prices are very reasonable. Minor complaints… dessert was adequate at best. Then we sort of got lost at the end of the meal… our waiter seemed to abandon us and it became a tag team affair at the end. But this couldnt dim the luster of great dinner. We went here because I was stuck in Newark on a job. We *will* come back because this local authentic gem is a destination restaurant and worth the trip from anywhere!

It was our first time, but definitely not our last. Awesome sitting and eating at the circular bar, enjoying the friendly atmosphere and the culture. I had a Shell Steak, which turned out to be the best Strip Steak I’ve had in a while. My wife had fresh Salmon which was also wonderful. The portions are enormous. Add a small picture of Sangria, generous on alcohol, and our bill was $51.00!! Free parking across the street, also. Don’t miss it, if you’re in Newark.

Terrible service. I would not recommend this place at all. I was here in news year eve with my father and my mother and i had absolutely terrible service. The place wasn’t even busy! the service that you get is A JOKE…. i’ve been going here with my friends and family for a few years now and this had to be the WORST time to go. What happened was we were sitting down at the bar , waiting to be served and it seems like everyone was just ignoring us and we were looking around and we saw everyone come in and get served and we were waiting over an hour until someone took our order. Then the waiter who usually takes care of us who was working that day he came by the bar and served the drinks for us and told us he could not serve us that evening due he was only doing drink orders that night and that someone else will serve us and take our order. So 40 minutes later someone came to FINALLY take our order I asked why it was taking so long for someone to serve us he didnt really have answer . So another hour passes we get our appetizers and they brought us the wrong appetizer! WHAT A JOKE .. Me and my family wasted over 2 hours to finally get our on tray and when we got our on tray It was the wrong order.. So we sent the order back clearly that order wasn’t meant for us. We were drinking of course so we just couldn’t pick up and leave exactly so we called the manager and told him to cancel everything! I am VERY disappointed and I can not believe the terrible service we received. I use to love coming to this place but it seems it is going downhill. I would not recommend anyone to go here . TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN NOT ONLY THAT I AM NOT A CHEAP TIPPER AND I GOT TREATED LIKE S##t you would think someone would let the person know who’s taking care of us to be a good server!

Excellent Portuguese seafood restaurant. Seafood was fresh and well prepared. Had varieties of cockles, clams, shrimp, lobster, calamari and grilled fish. No weak link. Really enjoyed the preparations. Bit pricey but you pay for the quality. Coconut cake dessert was the best of the bunch; flan nice but fairly standard. Will be back. Oh yes, will be back.

Great Portuguese Seafood!. Had a great dinner at Seabra’s Friday night (5/8/09). Fabulous chorizo for appetizer; delicious clams with pork; fabulous grilled jumbo shrimp. Authentic. Lots of locals. Great bar where you can also eat. Highly recommended.
