Nice cafe, expensive food. I love the artsy feel of this place, the waitress was very nice. The seafood gumbo I had was wonderful, just the right amount of spicy. However, I feel like the prices were really high. French fry basket (which came with unique sauces) and two seafood gumbos was a little over $35.

What a waste of time. The draft selection is poor and the staff doesn’t seem to even care you are there. We waited roughly any hour for our food after already waiting 10 minutes to get a beer, when we were just about to walk out as two other tables had already done (there were only 5-6 parties to begin with) our food came out. The waitress asked if we needed anything and we couldn’t help but inquire why it took an hour for our food in a dead restaurant. Her answer was that it was really busy, plus they had a small kitchen. I guess witnessing the staff doing shots at 1pm and bsing at the bar any free second didn’t help either.

Must Go on Allen St.. One of my favorite places to grab a drink, listen to music and have a good dinner. Originally an old hardware store on Allen Street, it was transformed to a cute trendy restaurant with a u shaped bar. On weekends another bar is open in the second room and sometimes events are held in the third back back room. Serve many specialty beers and your classic PBR! Boddington is another good choice in the winter. I like getting the paninis for my dinners and splitting a few kinds with my friends. The bruschetta is also a good choice and comes with roasted garlic cloves that you can put on as much or little as you want. The french fries come with different dipping sauces and condiments had some very good unique flavors. Try the specials they change daily. Have had some good items off the list. Thursday nights they have blue grass and Saturday nights is hip hop. Bartenders are some of the best around. Pat and Jay are very generous with drinks and shots.

The good- bruschetta The bad- ordered a burger medium and it was very well done and cold. My boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich with brie, and the waitress dropped on the way to our table. The other half was cold as well. The waitress offered to make a new one, so a half our later she came back with a new one. Service was terrible and we ended up being there for two hours.

Oh-for-one. This was my first, and almost certainly my last, visit. My wife, son and I went for dinner. We were promptly seated. This is a cute pub in the heart of Allentown. One fun thing about this neighborhood is people watching and looking out for people you know, so we were happy to be seated by the window. The beer selection was good and my wife was delighted with her red wine. Our food orders were taken by a pleasant-enough waitress. Our appetizers arrived – bruschetta with salmon – really delicious. So far so good. We are huge fans of Hardware’s new sister establishment – the Black Rock – on Amherst Street so the vibe about Hardware was pretty good so far. Here come the entrees! Yay! The burgers arrived for two of us, looking good, but…COLD. All was not lost…the fries looked great, too, but…COLD. Meanwhile, the third entree was MIA. Tick, tick, tick…a full 10 minutes later my wife’s sandwich arrived. I asked the waitress, with as much politeness as I could muster, who she thought might be responsible for two cold dinner plates and service so poor that our family couldn’t actually dine at the same time. Her response was to take no responsibility at all. Zero. Nada. And without hesitation she threw her kitchen staff under the bus. The check came for the full amount, a considerable amount for only 3 diners. Folks, there are too many other restaurants that get it right to spend even one second or one penny in this place. The sad thing is that the closely related Black Rock Kitchen & Bar is one of the top restaurants in WNY in my opinion. Go there instead. Or just go down Allen Street to almost anywhere else.

Very good. Pat at the bar does an amazing job. Excellent beer selection, Pat is very knowledgeable.Had a great burger. My only issue was that (and this happens at most places lately) is that I wanted it medium and it came well.Sweet potatoe fries were probably the best Ive had.

It’s really good. That’s all I’m going to say because my husband and I love it and just about get a table when we go.
