Not for me. Went here last night before a show at the Irish Classical Theater. The Bijou is practically next door and the train virtually dropped us off at the door. We encountered a friendly staff, a most entertaining waiter, and a menu which gave a wide variety to choose from. I chose wrong. The Pork Tenderloin was anything but tender, being overcooked and flavorless. My jaws hurt after trying to chew it and I left half of it on my plate. To be fair, my sister’s crusted salmon on rice was very nice, as were all of our sides…mashed sweet potato, green beans and crispy spinach. The decor was a bit grungy, and I was surprised with paper place mats, the kind you would find in a diner. Overall, unsatisfied, would not recommend, and will not return.
NOT GOOD. Not thrilled at all.. very expensive and the food is not that good. The service lacks!! Not friendly, warm or inviting.. I would NOT go back. Friday’s is a few doors away, go there!
Bijou Grille — go elsewhere. It’s just across the street from Shea’s Theater but find someplace else to eat even if it’s not as close. The Bijou Grille is way overpriced and the quality of food is mediocre at best. My expensive mixed drink was very watered down. The baked manicottis must have started out as frozen mush but some of the dish ended up being burned — the whole plate looked like it had been heated with a flamethrower. The tomato sauce was overly salted. There wasn’t enough bread to go around and you’ll find that anything as simple as a side salad costs extra. The waiter was surly and expressed absolutely no sympathy for my complaint about the manicottis. I also watched the head cook angrily berate a waitress–it just didn’t seem like a warm place to visit.
Not a huge fan. Bijou Grille is like stepping back into the 50’s with it’s neon, stainless steel, and bubblegum and teal colored decorations… The menu has many options and the food is decent, but it’s not anything special in my opinion. Everything seems to be a bit overly seasoned, and very heavy, even a simple salad is coated in too much dressing and topped with pretty greasy chicken… I prefer a place with more light options and this just doesn’t cut it for me.
Avoid this place, the food and service are terrible. There are plenty of other places around Sheas.
Enjoyed, enjoyed, enjoyed. I live in the southern tier and came up to Shea’s with my daughter, my sister and sister-in-law. I don’t know the Buffalo area restaurants so I figured I would try one close to Shea’s. I was pleased with the decor of the Bijou. Not over the top – clean but dark. The older gentlemen host greeted us with efficiency and politeness. The waitress was pleasant and informative. The chief came over, introduced himself and chatted with us. Mike informed me that I would be happy with the Salmon and boy was he right. It was wonderful. The cream of tomato soup had a great texture and the zucchini crisps were light and delicious. We ended our meal with a wonderful truffle dessert that was just enough to satisfy but not overbearing and filling. I would strongly advise you to try this establishment out. I will go back again.
Lemon chicken wrap with spinach was too liquidy but otherwise delicious. Roasted turkey sandwich was good. Sweet potatoes chips got mixed reviews. The burger was just fine.
