Bread and soups were very good. Service was great. Decor- eh. For the entrees, I’m always leery of too many menu items and this place is why. Maybe their basics like spaghetti or ravioli are good, but I ordered the gorgonzola pasta. BLECH. Could smell the garlic as server was bringing it to the table. I ended up with a raw chunk of garlic in my mouth the size of my pinky nail. Sundried tomatos weren’t mentioned in the menu but they were on it anyway – maybe an attempt to fancy it up. Wife’s chicken with spinach and cheese had no noticeable salt or flavor. We won’t be going back.
Awesome Night!. My parents and I enjoyed a fabulous meal tonight, Sept 25, 2013. We enjoyed the best portobello mushroom appetizer and the stuffed banana peppers were to die for. If you ever get a chance to order the corn chowder I would suggest it. You don’t really know corn chowder until you’ve this! Not only was the food wonderful, it was delivered was such panache I couldn’t believe it. Unfortunately, I took pictures after a bite or two, but you get the idea. All this for very reasonable prices.
I went to Boomerang on Saturday August 3. I’m from Ottawa and love good food. Anyhow, I had the french onion soup which is prepared the traditional way with american provalone then I actually ordeeed the special, shrimp and scallops en brioche served over a cajun cream sauce. I am 35 (okay 48) and I am an amateur cook, and I have rarely tasted something so good. The sauce carried a punch and complimented the sea food so beautifully. Look the meal was hot and it was perfectly cooked and the presentation was so great, it actually looked like a soft shell crab. This being said, I will go back to Boomerangs as often as I come to Buffalo … thanks to the owner Tom for the hospitality and thanks to Nikki, our server (funny as heck).Also, thanks to Joanne, the bar keeper, drinks were affordable and strong.
Yummy. Was so happy to find such a cool place in my hood! I will be going back- a bit slow, but it was Friday night and the owner? manager? Tom took time to chat with us and it was all in all a very nice experience-Extensive menu and other reviews have me hungry for more menu tasting! We had an awesome fish fry and my only ;( is no potato salad- but plenty of options for potatos- I am super happy to have gone in-driven by a million times-duh-and everyone in the place looked happy including staff. Bravo!
They were really friendly and helpful. I got buffalo shrimp for the appetizer and loved it. A half lamb half beef burg, which was cooked to what I wanted. I’m not in live with fried goods and burgers but I would definitely return here.
Fantastic. Still fabulous. Brought my family of four, including two vegetarians that were accommodated wonderfully. We ate like greedy kings with appetizers, drinks, entrees and the legendary desserts. All four of us for $115 with EVERYTHING including two take-home boxes. Fresh and delicious. Great staff. You’ll come back again and again.
