Nightmare. Joined this site just to say I was there to see a band on Friday night and I will never be back. The staff was rude, the drinks were way too pricey for the quality of the place AND sold in plastic cups. The cherry on top was that there were people DOING DRUGS outside and in the bathrooms of the venue!! I have never in all my years of attending live music events in the Western New York region seen such a lack of class and respect for fellow patrons. It was just so blatant and where was the security or management???! Please don’t think me square, I’ve had my share of fun, but out in the open with a few families in the area walking by was just one of the most mortifying things I’ve ever seen. Sorry Iron Works. There are plenty better places to go to see music or have a beer in Buffalo, all of which I’m sure wouldn’t tolerate such classlessness, all of which don’t make their money on the backs of hearty Buffalonians charging 7$ for a plastic cup of beer.
Decent food, good music, can’t say anything terrible or fantastic about it. Quick food, had to get a bar back to grab the only waitress working. Ups and downs…but overall decent place 🙂
So so nothing great. Decided to stop there before a Sabres game. The menu is limited and highlights gourmet hot dogs and poutine fries. The hot dog bun is oversized and ours tasted a little on the old side. Not a great feeling when the hot dog is $6.50. The fries were real good, but the poutine gravy was below average. Drinks are pricey as well with a can of beer averaging $5…..and no it is not a 24 ouncer….just a normal 12 spot. Will not be going back
Greedy Opportunists. I’m a lifelong resident of WNY and am sad to say that this place is an utter disappointment. They are located across the street from the First Niagara Center, the home of the Buffalo Sabres and the hosts of round two of NCAA basketball tournament games. Accompanied by a friend (another lifelong resident of the area) we attempted to visit this establishment prior to attending the aforementioned basketball games. To my dismay, and to the dismay of a group of out of town visitors, we were told that there was a $5 cover charge. This for the right to buy a draft beer for $6 which was described as a drink special. Needless to say neither we nor the visitors ahead of us would subject ourselves to this financial abuse. There is an old saying that you only get one chance to make a first impression and the first impression of this place is that they are willing to gouge visitors and locals alike. If you are visiting WNY go elsewhere and know that many restaurants are legitimately interested in you having an enjoyable experience and see you as a customer to be treated fairly and not a dollar sign with legs.
Really love it here! Way to go, Cobblestone District! The venue is awesome- food, beer, music…how is that ever wrong? We have watched a band, a Bills game…fun both times. Jesse and Shayla are very nice. You MUST go! Perfect for First Niagara goers, downtowners, business people, family, happy hour, gathering…poutine, hot dogs…how can you not go??
