Never again !!!. They DO NOT sell to interracial couples, my family who happens to be an interracial couple went there to have a bite to eat after driving from the city 3 hours but could not get service, they were totally ignored, that says it all, I guess that some people still live in the 40’s and 50’s……21 Oct, 2014Racist. Memories/Really FINE Dining!. Sometime in the 1980s, my husband and I were on a ten day drive and camp vacation, with no particular destination. We began in Dearbornl, MI and a few days later crossed the border of PA at the junction of NY and NJ and happened to spot what was then called Tom & Arlene’s Diner. It was charming looking and dinner time so we took a chance – and ended up staying in PortJervis an extra two days just to sample more of that delicious food, soup, PIES!! before we moved on. We liked it so much that we extended our trip to three weeks, went on up to Maine, but rerouted our return trip to come back through and spend more time with Tom, Arlene (yes, they were really there) and their great meals and desserts. We often fondly remembered that trip and the diner, so imagine my surprise when i just for fun did a search for them online and found them still there! I don’t know who owns or cooks now but I would highly recommend anyone – give it a try- even if you have to drive across a few states to get to that peanut butter pie!

Good food, reasonably priced. I especially like the soups.

Quaint and Comfy. Is how I would describe Arlene & Tom’s Restaurant. My husband and I love to visit whenever we are in the area. The food is always fresh and tasty. We each have our favorite, but both agree that the prices are reasonable.15 Jul, 2011LIVER & ONIONS. It is served with a generous amount of grilled onions that are sauteed to perfection, topped with crisp bacon. I could never eat this when Mom served it while I was growing up, it always seemed to be such a dry chewy piece of meat. I don’t know how Arlene & Tom’s prepare it, but it is so tender.
