About
The elegant Homestake Chop House Restaurant is located in the Black Hills-Fort Pierre Railroad Roundhouse, built by the Homestake Mining Company in 1901. The facility serviced and repaired engines for the Black Hills-Fort Pierre Railroad and Deadwood Central Railroad. By the 1990s the building had fallen into disrepair and the City of Lead decided to have it torn down. A local businessman purchased the building to save the last railroad structure in town. Homestake Chop House is a steak house, with a number of fish, poultry and seafood options. We serve Certified Angus Beef, Wagyu beef from free range cattle, Kobe beef from Japan, buffalo, Elk, Heluka Pork, organic chicken, and every day we have feature appetizers, entrees and desserts. All desserts are home made.
