Great Calzone. My favorite calzone in all of San Antonio. They give you a lot of sauce with it which I like. Takes a little while to get food from the kitchen, but the food quality is excellent and worth the wait.

Food ok, timeliness and service is terrible. The pizza is just ok. It is NY style in the sense that it sort of looks like a pizza you could get while in NY. However, it wasn’t worth the nearly $20 we paid for our pizza. We also ordered the garlic bread. However, the worst part of our experience wasn’t the food. It was the service. I placed the order for take out and was told my order would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived to the Evans and Bulverde restaurant 40 minutes after ordering, thinking I was running late. Instead I was told my order was not ready at all. I dont even think they placed the pizza in the oven until I arrived. I expressed my displeasure to the young lady up front and she told me pizzas take time. Apparently 40 minutes isnt enough time to make a pizza. The restaurant was not busy at all. There were open tables everywhere and at least 5 other people standing around waiting for their orders. I will say the gentleman who could have been a manager was very polite and seemed apologetic. However, he blamed the miscommunication on a new guy that just started and he was the one that took my order, although I spoke to a female on the phone. The young girl up front was the only one who had a negative attitude about the experience. I finally received my order 1 hour and 15 minutes after I called it in. Apparently, when they say their pizza takes time, time means 75 minutes. It seemed as though the garlic bread was made well in advance because the pizza was warm and the bread was cold/hard as a rock. Weve ordered from this place in the past and a somewhat similar experience. I was upset enough about it this time to go through the trouble of creating an account. Their pizza is definitely better than the usual chains (Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, etc.), but the timeliness and service from the people running the POS machines are very much below par.In summary: Food is good if you get it warm, but, the service is mostly terrible as it takes a long time to get your food.

Superisingly good pizza. Being from Brooklyn I think I know pizzas, and thIs is good. Thin crust not too much topping and crispy. This is New York pizza.

I would like to say that I frequent the store at 281 and 46 and this review should not reflect poorly on that location at all.I get the same thing every time I order: a mushroom and pepperoni calzone. It has always been delicious and I would recommend ordering it at any other location.I was told my calzone would be ready in 25-30 mins, I showed up and the girl at the counter was the same one who had taken my order (and thought I had said my name was Virginia. I should have seen this as the first warning.) and had gotten it wrong. She left the pepperoni out of my order. She asked if I would accept the mushroom calzone, but as much as I love mushrooms I don’t think a purely mushroom calzone would taste good, I insisted on getting pepperoni and mushroom. She first, in an accusatory tone, asked if she had repeated the order back to me (she had not) to shift the blame on me rather than accepting her mistake and apologizing. Unacceptable. The manager, or shift leader, or whoever, stepped in at this point and insisted the calzone could be fixed by opening it up and inserting the pepperoni, and that making a new one was unnecessary. I could tell that this suggestion made the cook very uncomfortable. He was the obviously the only employee around with any integrity. I consented, thinking that it might turn out alright. It didn’t. It was awful. I will NEVER return to this location and STRONGLY discourage anyone from eating here either. Having worked in restaurants for many years I am appalled at how this problem was resolved by the front of house staff. In fact, the cook apologized to me as I left. As I said, he is obviously the only one around who is trustworthy or with any measure of integrity.

Save your money and go somewhere else! We had the garlic bread, a calzone and pesto pasta. Everything was extremely bland. The red sauce they served to dip the calzone in tastes canned. Not returning to this place and we live right next door!
