This place was filthy ! Also I ask for my eggs fried hard instead of over easy, their response was no, no egg substitution. So thats the same as saying we will not break the yolk and flip your egg one time. Sheer laziness… but the laziness shows thru in the cleanliness of the dishes.
Great food but poor service. I’ve been coming to the Pigeon Hole for years, before it got popular, and have always been thrilled with the food and the service. Today, however, we were told the wait would be 20-25 minutes for an indoor table–almost an hour later (more than double the time we were told), after four groups that arrived after us were already seated, we were placed in a table right next to the door (with a less than sincere apology by the host for the wait). Both customers and employees consistently left the door open, freezing out at least 10 customers sitting in the front room.Pigeon Hole has always been my favorite brunch place in Charlottesville, but if this is the new norm of service, it’s falling way down on my list. Great food is only part of the equation, and the rest of it really missed today.

Fabulous so yummy and cozy. The restaurant is in an old house. Everything I have had is great and OJ is fresh squeezed. I like the French that, hashbrowns and Pigeon hole.
Go for the grits. The dining experiences at Corner establishments can vary greatly depending on the time of year, day of the week and time of day. I managed to arrive just after 9am on a Sunday and consequently was seated immediately. I appreciated that mason jars of ice water were already poured. – – The special with avocado, small shrimps , hollandaise sauce and biscuits was good, but nothing to write home about and a little pricey at $15. That being said, the side of grits really took the cake! Next time I go there, Ill simply order grits and biscuits. – – I cant claim that this is the best place for breakfast in Cville, but Im glad I went and for students, it certainly is convenient. Outdoor seating is nice with good weather and I wouldnt hesitate trying it out as a repeat customer.
Incredible breakfast. Great service, eggs were tasty, toast was fresh and delicious, and very affordable. Definitely going again
