I have been here twice and the food and service was great and very friendly. I would recommend this place to all my Seattle area friends. It was also nice to meet and talk to the chief.
I was rather disappointed with the restaurant. Staff wasn’t friendly, rather short. We wanted to change our table, they were not willing to accommodate. No smiling at all. We had to wait for our food for a long time. The starter bread was very Walmart-ish. Raw oysters were good. Mussels in tahini sause were ok, however, tahini is made out of ground sesame seeds, this sause had nothing to do with tahini. Panfried gooey duck was ok. Pasta with shellfish and tomato sause was nothing crazy……for the taste of food this place is very overpriced!!!! I have had much better prepared shellfish and seafood before!!!
Xinhs Clam and Oyster House. Nice food, very interesting change, service was good, could use a few candles, be a bit more intimate but the food was excellent and the owner came out to greet people and was completely charming. Rest room is a ways down the hall as it is situated in what appears to be an office buliding. All in all though good experience, nice people, good food and gooey duck to boot!
Great food!. Great food, good service, but could stand to be a little more intimate. Take the time to look at the pictures on the walls, you’ll be amazed at who is them.
George A. Steele. This restaurant has an excellent blend of Asian and seafood. They serve a salad with a dressing that I would give my right eye to figure out. It is really good. This is another place that once you try, you will return.
A Mess…… We tried this place because we were under the mistaken impression it was good. Oh my were we wrong?I will say the kumamoto oysters on the half shell were among the best I’ve ever had. Proximity to product is clearly a plus here. The oysters were great. However, they were not quite cold enough and the cocktail sause tasted like ketchup with a small amount of spice in it; that part was not good. The rest of our meal ranged from ok to really bad. The fried oyster app was ok; the tartar sauce tasted like mayo with pickles in it…. and nothing more. . Hoisin sauce on the side with everthing, whether you want it or not! The baked oysters with bacon were not good. I love oyster and I love bacon and the flavor was ok but something about it was wrong; greasy. The crab cakes were spongy, greasy hockey pucks. Just about the worst I’ve ever been served. They were way too big, just a gritty, greasy icky mess. The pan fried noodles with chicken was ineible: the noodles were over cooked and difficult to find with what tasted like frozen vegetables that dominated the dish. It was really bad and was barely touched. The Prawn Curry dish had a nice flavor in the sauce but again the dish was buried under garnish and grease. There are non asian dishes and maybe they are better but given that Xinh is asian, we expected more.
A place to eat in Shelton. That ought to be enough. But this is an excellent seafood restaurant owned by Taylor Shellfish that brings unique Asian flavors to the company’s core products, clams, mussels and oysters.
