The food was good, but the bill was a BIG surprise. My spouse and I decided to go to Lexus for a Saturday evening meal with our two kids (10 and 7). My son ordered the ‘Bugs Bunny Burger’ for $6.95 and asked to change his fries for a caesar salad (nice healthy choice); the waitress told us there would be an upcharge, which we were fine with. My spouse also ordered a burger and fries for $11.50. Only after I paid the bill and the tip, did I notice that my son’s burger and salad came up to $11.45… a $4.50 upcharge for a kids meal caesar salad?!? AND $2 for a small chocolate milk. So a kids meal came up to $13.45… and not even a desert?!? Absolutely outrageous! When I approached our waitress and asked for an explanation, she (almost sarcastically) said ‘I did tell you there would be a surcharge.’ I asked to speak to the manager, she pointed to him, and since he was only a few steps away he had overheard part of our discussion. When I asked him for an explanation, he muttered something, didn’t really give an explanation, and he barely offered an apology. He then offered me some change from his pocket. Now, we were also insulted. I told him to keep the change, said we would never come back, and we would tell everyone we know.
I’ve always been a fan of old school Montreal style diners that have a huge meat and seafood centric menu with older waitresses that call you sweetie and Lexus is just that. The food is average to good depending on what you chose. I love the vast menu full of childhood favorites. I would eat there regularly if I lived closer. Steaks, Greek food, lobster, burgers, desserts, etc. Even if the food was average overall, I would still eat there because of the menu and nostalgia.
How do they stay in business?. Probably the rudest servers and staff I’ve experienced anywhere in the Ottawa area.

Chicken parm & alfredo. Wow.. Overindulged in the chicken parmesan and fettuccine alfredo dish – it was really good. Exceeded my expectations by far – it was delicious. I’d return and do recommend this restaurant.
Unbelievable experience!! And not in a goood way!. A group of us went to this resturant before a show at the shenkman art centre- we were coming from out of town and running late so we only had time for drinks and apps. The waitress was prompt and apps were fine. As we were finishing a bus boy was clearing a table behind us when I assume a manger/ boss came over and started swearing at him telling him to shut the f**k up multiple times! All the patrons within ear shot stared in disbelief ! Unreal!!!!!
Friday night dinner. Went there not quite sure what to expect, restaurant was vey busy but we were seated quickly and our food orders were brought to us in a reasonable time, food was good and was good value for the price, I will go back again.
