Delicious food, plated well, and had a modern feel with the entrees, but maintained a very authentic flavour with the main dishes. However, we dined there on a Sunday night and the restaurant was ridiculously understaffed (only one waitress to look after several tables full of people), so the wait was very, very long. Luckily, the waitress constantly wore a smile and was very kind and helpful despite the obvious stress which allowed us to have a very pleasant experience. The restaurant definitely needs to have more staff rostered on to help things move more smoothly, reduce wait time and help ease the stress on their staff, at the very least. It was some of the best Indian food Ive had recently though, and since it was served hot and that the waitress was lovely, it still deserves a good rating despite the long wait. Would be interested to return next time Im in Canberra to see if the restaurant takes on this feedback and increases staff numbers.
We went here for lunch during the Christmas period. We started with the palak chaat, then we went for dal makhini with rotis. Lastly we also had the egg and chilli paneer biryani.The chaat was ok it was a little too sweet and lacking a bit of salt. The dal was decent. The highlight of our meal was the biryani’s. They were so authentically made in the clay pot and a naan type thing on top. The taste too was really good, would recommend to tone down the spice if you can’t tolerate too much heat.Overall really good food would definitely go back. The service unfortunately was a bit slow. There was only one person serving that afternoon and there were quite a few tables busy.
