Mixed bag about this place. The souvlaki is delicious when you get what you order. Apparently I am only the second person in Canberra who has the gall to ask for sauce. Seriously??? I tried without sauce and didn’t really like it as much as I did with sauce. The plate is nice enough also, but the service leaves a bitter aftertaste.
I really like the location as well as the food at Fillos. It has the same taste as back in Greece. The staff is pleasant and the service is fast. What can a guy want more. This is my favorite lunch break place.Warmly recommending it to everyone.
The Braddon Hamlet’s Greek stall. You have the option of a souvlaki pita wrap or a platter with meat of your choice together with salad, onions, tzatziki, and chips (having the chips actually inside the pita felt weird to me but oh well). I was genuinely impressed with the lamb, succulent and wasn’t too lean or overdone and had a good flavour to it. All ingredients locally sourced I believe. Fillos Souvlaki definitely holds its own against its competition at the hamlet.
Good Greek option among the hip food carts at The Hamlet on Lonsdale Street in Braddon. I had the souvlaki plate. The pita and the tzatziki were very good. The lamb was a bit chewy but had a nice flavour.
They actually had a food truck of fillos souvlaki in braddon and ended up getting the pork pita and fries and onions and taseki sauce even though it was cooked to order the pita wasn’t that hot but still tasty.
