A group of us went out to Sage Restaurant and had the Degustation menu. The menu comes with a variety of drink packages which include mocktails, cocktails and wine. The food was exceptional as was the presentation, service couldn’t have been better. The only down side is there are two sittings so we had to leave just after 8pm so there is no lingering for a catch up and we didn’t even have time for coffee.
From the amuse bouche to the dessert, every single thing was unique and exciting. It was my first time in Sage restaurant together with my date and we enjoyed our night out. I was surprised that she really liked the food considering that children are quite difficult to please and can be the hardest critics. But the variety of texture and flavor really made it fun for the both of us. Each plate was served like a work of art; absolutely picture perfect. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Our waiter always explains to us all the items in the menu and his suggestions for wine and food pairings were really on point. This is definitely a restaurant you should try if you are ever in Canberra.
I have been to most fine dining restaurant in Canberra. I rate this one has the best food to offer. It is also great value for money. We went there for lunch and the place was full but the staff managed to provide excellent service and kept smiling despite being very busy.
Absolutely lovely. We came here on a busy Saturday evening. It has many elements that would make it an amazing dining venue, but is a tad rough around the edges. Service was very sporadic. The food, however, I could not fault. We opted for their five course degustation, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Still, a very positive experience!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere! True fine dining experience! Being spoiled by Melbourne restaurants this place is a must go to when visiting Canberra.
The food was fantastic, but despite the restaurant being almost empty we were seated near the door. The loud noise and cold wind from outside ruined the atmosphere. Also the furniture was too small for me, I felt awkward sitting in a child sized chair. At only little over six feet tall I’m not exactly a giant, but I felt like it here. Not worth the price, and I won’t be returning.
