Was in Canberra for 3 Days and came here all three days. I tried the burrito, loaded bananaBread (pictured), tempeh sausage rolls, Buddha bowl and a variety of their sweet baked treats including the cinnamon scroll, carrot cake cupcake, apple crumble muffin etc my favourites would have to be the tempeh sausage roll (high in protein and delicious flavour) and the cinnamon scroll. Honourable mentions to the carrot cake cupcake and loaded banana bread. The banana bread was perfectly toasted with crusty edges – however the berries were frozen and I would have preferred fresh ones. The burrito was a large portion so good if you are super hungry. I will definitely come back again next time I am in Canberra!
I was super excited to come here but my experience was sub-par. The place was quite crowded and we only were able to get tables on the side walls (which were way too tall). The food was a little pricey in my opinion. I had the Granola bowl ($16.50) and although it was a decent meal, I feel it’s not a reflection of the price you pay. My friends had the pumpkin sandwich and TLT which was great but again, without any sides.. I don’t think it’s worth the price.If I do come to Canberra again, I would possibly try their burrito bowls or burgers as well as their treats which I know are highly loved!! Thumbs up for a completely vegan cafe though!!
Had an aai bowl and blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Both delicious and of course very fruity, just what we needed to start the day. Presentation also commendable. For Canberra’s standards, very decent establishment, considering clean, healthy food is hard to come by here. On a side note, regarding the baked goods inside, could not understand why a raw slice should cost double the price of a baked good considering it is half the latter’s size…
Been here numerous times. Great to have somewhere specifically vegan and in a great location. Service is great and it’s moderately priced. Definitely more of a cafe than a restaurant, portions are okay – presentation could definitely be improved. Cakes and slices are definitely the highlights. Also am a fan of the sandwiches in particular the BLT, nachos were mediocre and coffee was good, smoothies have been better. Seems to be always busy, often with a line out the door and can be hard to find a seat. Specialise in cakes that look incredible.
Hands down the best vegan establishment I’ve been to. Takes the title for best cafe too. The burgers were so god damn good. Staff were always brilliant. Coffee was consistently excellent. I speak in past tense because I’ve moved away and have yet to find anything close to Sweet Bones. Might have to just open one up in Melbourne myself!
Still trying to understand why this is such a popular place. The whole time we were there (between 10 at 11.30), the line never subsided! Coffee was good and my cocwhip was different and decent. But we waited for 30+ minutes for granola to come out! Yes, really! And, it was just OK. It’s just granola, after all. Not sure what all the hype is all about.
Today I am dieting so I choose this Baganda cafe. I ordered Mean Green Salad and it was pretty yummy. I love The dressing source containing tahini. Will go back again and try more!!
