The Mandalay Bus is so random, so out of place and so awesome! The bus is deceiving, to the the untrained eye one might be caught thinking that it is a run down wreck in the oh so indie Braddon precinct, but don’t be fooled, the Mandalay serves up mean, cheap, delicious food straight out of the boot of the bus!

Great truck, takeaway joint.Waffle Style Chips with sauce and chilli: Great texture and heat.Crepe with Nutella, banana and peanut butter: hard to go wrong with these ingredients, pretty yummy too.
Open only at night, from Wednesday to Saturday (I could be wrong). Mandalay Bus is probably Canberra’s most famous food truck, what sets it apart from others is that it doesn’t do your normal chicken, chips and burgers but a completely unique menu. It’s hard to describe but it’s super fusion but heavy on the Southeast Asian influences. The most famous item is the Chicken Satay Roti, other good stuff is the spicy tortilla and the waffle fries. The stuff is pretty cheap as well so it’s definitely a must visit if you don’t might walking right to the end of Braddon (road opposite the two petrol stations).!
Consistently love this place! It has some of the yummiest food in Canberra for such a good price! I love the combination of comfort food and Burmese/Asian fusion.I always recommend this place to friends!
Pros- Solid Food- Great vibe/atmosphere at night- Awesome service from staffCons – Sometimes get some weird people from northbourne avenue rocking up. Overall: won’t disappoint you! In years to come, I’ll never forget those Mandalay bus study breaks during exams.
I have been to lots of nice restaurants in Australia, Asia and Europe, but the Mandalay Bus is by far my favourite place. This is the greatest and tastiest place in the whole world. It might not look like much from the outset, but the food is extreme; and everything on the menu is amazing. The staff are such beautiful people and the energy is fantastic! If you haven’t been to the Mandalay Bus, you have not lived!
