Laksa is full of MSG. We definitely would not return to Asian Noodle House.I decided to order Laksa and There are tons of MSG added in Laksa, that make me feel sick and thirsty. I started to notice bad side effects from what appeared to MSG make me headache 24 hours, vomiting and my stomach wound. They should declare that MSG is added on the menu. And, this type of MSG is also not good for kids at all. Fish cakes taste like they were made with half fish- half flour. My friend ordered Pad Thai and came with black colour noodles, it’s fake and not based on tomato paste that we used to have at other restaurants. Would not recommend this ! Avoid !
I have very high standards in regards to laksa, I admit. BUT – this place makes a truly average laksa. I’m sorry Camberra that there aren’t more good laksa around for you to eat. I’ll try Sammy’s tomorrow.
Appalling service. The lady on the front desk unfortunately could not speak English, she didn’t write our order down, got it wrong and when we told her politely that this is not what we ordered she argued with us and got angry . 40 dollars for 2 meals laterGot it back to my hotel and no cutleryAnd then the food was disgusting Luckily Novotel has room service
Not ‘real’ Vegetarian. So I went to the civic restaurant and ordered Canberra’s favorite Laksa making it very clear that I am vegetarian. Then I got a spoon full of chicken meat. When I told the waitress she explained that it is made using chicken and prawn – I recommended that they advertise that it isn’t vegetarian and she asked in shock if I was a ‘real’ vegetarian. The manager was even less helpful and told me I should have checked – when I told her that I made it clear ti the waitress that I was in face vegetarian she then tried changing her tactic and insisting that the meal was actually vegetarian and that the chicken bones didn’t count. Nothing I hate more than hidden meat and the lack of a sincere apology.
Wouldn’t recomend. Once seated I noticed the glassware was dirty, the chop sticks were old where the coating had rubbed off on the tips. Food was bland and greasy, arrived quickly. The atmosphere was outdated and awkward. A staff members phone was constantly ringing behind the bar/till until the lady who seated us answered. She was very loud and was on her phone for a good half hour. First time I had been there and wont be going back.
Give them break. To All the people complaining about service or the noodle nazi lady at the cash register – give her a break. You are getting fed at a very cheap price with quality ingredients. She works hard 7 days a week to feed you so you don’t have to spend a couple hours going to the super market,cooking ,then cleaning up after for yourself. And you want a smile? Considering 40% of all adult workers are public servants, when was the last time you gave me a smile and thank you for fracking up my dole cheque. The service is in your stomach…period. Now move along so someone else can take your seat and be fed.
