We had an amazing evening here tonight. To start the cocktails where absolute top class and delicious. The bar tender even walked over and asked what specific base spirit I would prefer. He then went on to produce an awesome martini which I would come back for.We had dinner and mixed it up with some tasters and everything that came out was amazing. It is a very in the now menu and if you are looking for a place that is not doing steak and chips this is your place. Funky tunes and fun vide. Get here before everybody else does. Could not have asked for a better venue for our one night in Canberra.

Such a great bar, ambiance is great and service was even better. Bartenders extremely knowledgable, perfectly follow cocktail requests and were extremely friendly. Cheese plate was amazing and loved the olives. Great, partially hidden location. Only negative was we were told most food had run out (by 8.30), wasn’t a big deal as we were only there for a drink and nibble but if going for dinner, would recommend going earlier. On my second trip, I went for dinner and wasnt as impressed, found the pickles odd tasting, the chips were soggy, tasted of oil and lacked seasoning. Service was fast and frieIf Molly and the Highball Express had a baby, it would be Bar Rochford. Recommend for drinks but not so much for a meal.
Bar Rochford doesn’t know if it is a night club serving bar snacks or a restaurant serving good food. Until it decides what it really is it will continue to fail on both accounts. Apparently the bar staff have been instructed to sip from customers drinks to make sure that they are good enough. Shouldn’t competent bar staff already know how to make drinks? If you like extremely loud music served with your food, garnished with poor service standards then this is the place for you.
