Think before buy. The Cupcake Emporium was the result of a fit of childishness, triggered by the completely awesome teddybear shop next door. The cafe itself is very laid back, with very comfy couches (although being tall, my friend & I found the tables a little low). Choosing among the flavours (carrot, banana bread, lemon & poppyseed, redskin, choc-orange, butterscotch…) was a challenge! My friend loved his red velvet cupcake, although I regretted choosing the discounted pancake-flavoured cupcake (funny taste lingered after finishing, but it was my fault for picking something that was probably close to its used by date). Novelty factor is very high. Could have done with a proper plate rather than the takeaway box.

Awful. I can’t even believe this place is still in business. The manager/owner/short-haired lady has to be one of the RUDEST people I have ever come across in my entire life! I have never felt so unwelcome in a store.

The cupcakes are terrible here! The flavours are too sweet and seems like a lot of flavoured syrup is used and not real fresh ingredients. $5 for their disgusting cupcake is not worth it.

Disappointed.. 2 chocolate cupcakes cost $10.. What? They weren’t the nicest cupcakes I’ve had and certainly not worth $10..

Disappointing. Took my girls here for a treat. The cupcakes look Devine. We had the Vanilla rose, Red Velvet and carrot. The carrot was ok, pleasant enough not sure it was worth the $5+. The vanilla and red velvet tasted okay, but both were so crumbly it was just ridiculous. Very disappointed wouldn’t recommend.

Cupcakes are ok but quite expensive – they are cheaper the more you buy. They do look gorgeous though and have a wide range of flavours. Coffee and service is pretty basic. Cherry Seed at gold creek are better.

Sweet temptation. I think this is the only cupcake store in Canberra. They change their flavours menu each week so there’s always something new to try. The cupcakes are really moist and have plenty of icing on them. You can pre-order a half dozen or dozen and more if you have a function to go to. They used to do a high tea on weekends but I’m not sure if this is still the case. foodpornjournal.com
