Came here quickly for a warm drink takeaway on a chilly morning. It was a very bright looking cafe with a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a small chai latte. I thought the price was a bit much for the small serve size. The taste was also sickly sick, not pleasant at all. They did have perfect temperature which I find is hard to come by. I probably will be back again to try something but not their chai latte and not in a hurry to return.

A few months ago I walked past this funky looking cafe and thought I should check it out – I’m always on the hunt for new coffee places close to work.I’m so glad I did because Milk Crate basically makes the best mocha in all of Canberra. It is consistently perfect and delicious and just the right temperature.Sometimes that first sip almost makes me want to fall to my knees and weep with joy. This might sound like an exaggeration but it isn’t.I don’t know how they make my mocha so awesome but they do. Maybe next time I’ll pay attention. Maybe not.Either way, I know it is going to be amazing.Anyway, I’ve come in with a few different colleagues and they have also been very impressed. Now that the weather is getting warmer, we sometimes sit in the sun and enjoy our coffee before heading back to work.I obviously want Milk Crate to be successful but I kind of also don’t want it to get crazy popular because it is so right just the way it is now.At some point, maybe a Saturday in the near future, I’ll try the food. Although, if I’m this overwhelmed by a simple mocha, then the menu will probably take my breath away.
This place has great coffee and the best Bircher around! The girls working there are lovely and the vibe is super relaxed. I have been over charged a few times though so be careful that you double check! Definitely worth a visit of your on this side of civic looking for good coffee!
Made the drive down to Canberra to visit my brother for a week and popped in by chance to this little gem of a joint.Coffee was smooth and well presented without being bitter. The food was a fusion of Turkish and western food.I had the Istanbul roll which I doing to be quite a delight, Sujuk was well balanced with the right amount of spices. Only negative would have to be the egg was little over doneOverall a positive experience
Excellent coffee, great fit out and fun staff. Had the Istanbul Roll which I liked. Will come back to try the acai bowl which they’d unfortunately run out of.
Had the Instanbul Roll which was stupidly salty and not even provided in a roll you could eat with both hands. The plate (tub) provided also made eating the roll with knife and fork excessively difficult.
