A great spot for a casual weeknight meal. We tried a few their dishes (see photos), and standouts really were their dumplings. I enjoyed both boiled and fried pork dumplings. Yum!
Great little place in town. Ducked in for a nice quiet lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this little gem. Wasn’t too busy when I was there which was great. Food was really good which was a shock given the lack of patronage? I suppose it may have been due to time of day and year.
We found this place after checking out several other Chinese restaurants around Canberra City and decided to try them out as it was very clean and full of customers – always a good sign!We ordered the Crispy Chicken in Golden Sands, Pan-fried Vegetarian Dumplings and Veg Fried Rice to share. The outstanding winner was the Crispy Chicken without a doubt – the flavours all came together and worked nicely with the fresh lettuce cups. The only disappointment I found was that we were not offered fresh bowls after the entree, which would have been preferable as the Crispy Chicken was quite ‘crumby’. Also, soy sauce was served in a small bowl with a teaspoon rather than a bottle, which made it difficult to administer.Overall however, the food was delish and well priced, so very happy with the experience!
Don’t be put off by the rating. I nearly didn’t go and that would have been a HUGE mistake! Dumplings were delicious but the Peking duck…amazing! Give it a go…perfect before a show at the canberra theatre!
I’ve enjoyed quite a few lunch and dinner meals here and really enjoy the genuine, almost clumsy but well meaning service… The prices are on the higher side but the food is spectacular! Set aside an extra ten bucks and enjoy this lovely place with fine dining quality.
Amazingly good :). Highly recommend, So good. The Crispy duck was sensational, the panfried dumplings were spectacular and the eggplant dish was so delicious and delicate with a crispy outside and a soft eggplant centre. so good!!!
