Not worth seeking out. Situated at the tail end of the city, this place is always going to struggle to survive, because there is next-to-no passing foot traffic and no reason to seek this place out. Decor is tired. Ripped lino on the floor in the walkway to the toilet (closed for repairs) speaks of the level of neglect. Staff were friendly enough, but service was hardly sharp. Food is very ordinary cafe food. Overpriced and not inspiring a return visit.
Cooking Lessons Sorely Needed. There are better places to eat in Canberra – believe me.Not only do the kitchen staff need instruction in how to cook, they need advice about actually putting some food on the plate. The Sashimi Plate had several slivers of fish – that was it. Their excuse? We ran out of the other fish. Obviously a cheaper one, so let’s not make up the quantity with a bit more tuna and salmon guys. The beer battered chips were rubbish – sliced too thinly, battered too thickly, cooked too long. Not making potato crisps guys – supposed to be real chips.
Good cafe. Good coffee, great banana bread and egg and bacon rolls, friendly service. What more do you want?
