This place is just in front of ANU.we went to Canberra for a day trip and had breakfast there as its recommended on lonely planet. Its very popular compared to other places in Canberra. The food tastes quit good and coffee is decent too. Just its Sundays surcharge of 10% seems a bit unfair and too expensive.

This place is easy to find, since they have a high ratings, we decided to try it. The ambience is good, i ordered the pork belly burger, i usually like pork belly burgers but this time, the pork doesnt taste fresh. Im sorry to say, but if its fresh, i think it would be super yummy, the fries are great though, nice and crispy (the way i like my fries) . My partner ordered the fish and it taste yum, good winter food. Coffees are not bad as well. Very good customer service, price is okay. Recommended.

Well deserved high rating. Excellent coffee and friendly, knowledgeable staff. They served the food quickly and it was absolutely delicious, the mushrooms were the mushroomiest I have ever tasted! Generous potions and perfectly cooked scrambled and poached eggs.

Visiting Canberra from Melbourne, we love the cafe culture and were really impressed to find The Cupping Room.On a warm day it was beautiful to have the windows opened to bring together inside and outside, and a great vibe.Raspberry and white chocolate coffee was fantastic, and not too sweet. Salmon tartare was an outstanding dish with the greens, puffed rice, capers and pickled fennel. Flavours worked well together and a good contrast of flavours and textures.I gave the dish 9 out of 10, as the dressing was a little salty for me. Would have also loved to see the addition of a cracker to scoop up the salmon. That being said, I would order this again, and just ask for less dressing.Highly recommend a visit, great food and coffee, and customer service.

We joined the cue of eager, regular patrons outside The Cupping Room in Civic at 9am on a Saturday morning. The vibe was good. We had kids french toast (vanilla ice cream with egg and bread and maple syrup); and bacon and egg roll, a chicken katsu burger with wasabi aioli. Beverage wise, my daughter had a kids chocolate milkshake/smoothie and we ordered coffee. Which was standout. You pick your blend of beans and they make it with full cream milk. None of the usual flat white vs latte etc. That day we decided to try their milk based Ethiopia Jasper 0818. It was a flavoursome blend of medium depth. Perfect for me as I dont like acidic or fruity or Columbian flavours in my coffee. I have tried them… i just prefer a more depth. But if you do like those notes in your coffee beans then they do have that available for you to choose too. Located near Australian National University Canberra, The Cupping Room is easy to find but a very difficult place in which to get parking! It couldve been that I am not familiar with the area. We clocked a $140 fine for exceeding our parking by 9min. So if you are planning to head there do make time to find parking. Of you do like a good coffee and atmosphere it is worth paying this place a visit.

Came here a few years ago and revisited today The cafe always has creative seasonal menus.Ordered Black Betty (Coffee with chocolate) and Hot Chocolate. The coffee menu is actually ONA coffee menu. It is the same as the cafe ONA in ManukaFrench toast is always so good here as its puffy and creamy and tastes like pudding. Its just I dont like the rhubarb mousse on it. The rhubarb mousse is also in the Chia pudding I ordered. So I only finished the chia part and left the rhubarb mousse. The rhubarb mousse was tasteless and thin. I hope they can change it to coconut yogurt or other mousse. Egg and bacon roll was good and I like it.Im really not a fan of haloumi and regretted that I ordered it only because they looked delicious in the photo…The dipping source was good though. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The person who took our order has a really good sense of humour. He was really nice.

A very busy joint, we went on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and waited for about 5 mins for a table. Food orders end at 2:30pm. A staff came to take our order and he looked extremely disinterested. We weren’t sure if he heard our order corrected, he asked to confirm and we repeated the order, the staff left our table before we even finished talking. We had to call over another staff to make sure our order was correct. The staff we hailed down was really lovely and friendly.A part from the rude staff the food was really good. The avo smash was epic, it was pretty much an entire avo on two slices of toast with 2 poached eggs, dukkah (I think) and labneh. It was absolutely delicious. The pumpkin was rather average. It was literally 2 small pieces of pumpkin a shit load of coriander and some lentils with egg plant pure. For 18$ it was not impressive. The French toast on the other hand was perfect, the consistency was right and the toast was fluffy. Highly recommend this dish! For sides we ordered the haloumi fries. I’m not a big fan of haloumi because i find it typically tastes like salty rubber. But this haloumi was fluffy with just the right amount of sodium dipped in wasabi mayo. It was delicious. For drinks we ordered the black Betty and got chocolate We really enjoyed the food just disappointed with the customer service and that’s a big one for us. We wanted to score food 4/5 and customer service 3/5… so overall a 3.5/5 theweekendfoodieeats.blogspot.com
