Swung by earlier in the week for a quick coffee run. Got my usual skinny mocha but taste was completely off, can’t even describe the drink I got instead, like it had a tad too much milk or something. Temperature was spot on though. Probably won’t be back in a hurry.

Consistently excellent, fast. I go here regularly for my work flat white, preferring it slightly over Lonsdale St Roasters. The service is generally faster, the coffee always excellent and with generally a more noticeable bite than other cafs. A well-managed, pleasant establishment.
Hook it to my veins. This is the best coffee in Canberra.I am surprised that Tonic is not listed as #1 and more well known.Though the method divorced, overweight, public servant women use to judge a coffee is useless and trying to compare vanilla soy latte’s with 2 sugars is like trying to compare 25 year old single malt whiskeys but adding coke. It defeats the purpose. When judging coffee it should be taken black – it’s most pure form.To sum up the coffee at Tonic in one word would be ‘unbelievable’.Every cup is like a really good movie. Regardless of genre. What ever you order you just know its going to be good. The story line is smooth, it makes sense and it is made well, and it all comes together at the end. So smooth yet full of body.The staff are always a pleasure. Friendly and efficient.The cafe it self is clean, modern and has a good vibe. The baristas know what they are doing and they do it well.If you really appreciate coffee definitely stop going to places like cream or urban pantry and start going to places like tonic, where they employ respectable human beings who dont spit in your face upon entry.

Simply the best coffee in Canberra. Just a shame it’s weekdays only. The service is fast and friendly. Decor simple, and small selection of cakes and muffins. Go there for the coffee.
