Great food, great service, and great $9 lunch specials! We came for tapas one night, and ordered chicken and potato croquettes (nice but heavy) and the crispy pork with pineapple and yoghurt (also delicious, but quite heavy food after awhile). Still, we were very impressed and returned the next day for lunch. Beautiful inventive salads!

There are great specials available, so my friends and I visited on a thursday night for a few drinks and their 2 for 1 burgers. All burgers are $18 each and come with a side of chips and aioli, and on thursdays that’s even better value. I chose the lamb burger which has a rosemary hash brown, beetroot relish, slices of cherry tomato, lettuce and spring onion, and sour cream. The burger was delicious and full of sauces that ran down your hand- not the neatest food option for going out for drinks but was full of flavour and tasty. The service and drinks were also great, but nothing exceptional that you wouldn’t find at other bars. Seating in the downstairs bar is a little difficult for larger groups (more than 5). moodandfood.wix.com

Great value but mixed feelings about the burger. I went for the 2 for 1 burger Thursday night and the service was not commendable. We went in at 5pm and the bartender (a young woman with visible arm tattoos) didn’t even acknowledge us when we walked in and we stood at the bar because we didn’t know where to sit. There was no one there at 5pm except us and a man at the bar who she was friends with and she was talking to. There was no eye contact, no smile and after 5mins we just sat anywhere. I know this is a pub and you don’t get great service but seriously I felt like I was in the waiting room of a medical clinic. She bought over menus after 10mins and we got no water. I ordered the lamb burger which was overcooked. The flavours were nice though the grilled eggplant and hummus had strong middle eastern flavours. There were LOTS of chips which were hand-cut and seasoned but not crunchy or crispy and seemed baked (which is a little disappointing for a ‘chip’). The ‘patty’ was in fact two thin ‘slices’ of lamb mince which were about 1cm each and cooked very well done (grey and grainy in the middle). I don’t regret spending the $9 because it was a very filling meal but the burger was disappointing and I probably wouldn’t return. That service definitely didn’t warm my opinion… their $9 lunches look attractive and with a variety of seasonal options but I don’t know if I want to give this place another shot :/

Never book an event at treehouse! terrible customer service!. I had my 21st at treehouse and it was nothing but a horrible experience from the moment I paid the deposit. The staff were extremely unfriendly and were totally unhelpful and quite resistant in accommodating certain (realistic) requests for my guests. During the course of the night, you and your guests must spend $2000 (if your guests do not spend this much, you pay the difference) and throughout my party they were constantly deceitful in how much we had spent. We printed a receipt of the total spendings, then watched my guests spend $300 in drinks, printed another receipt and they had only accounted for $150 of that money. Afterwards they hassled me and my family for excess funds. Furthermore, the bar downstairs had a certain tequila that some of my guests enjoyed, so they drank down there. The staff did not inform me that drinks downstairs do not count toward my overall spending (gee that makes sense), but when my guests were informed they requested the bottle be taken upstairs where it would be counted and they quite rudely rejected this request. Their reasoning was that other customers may wish to buy it, which is fair enough, but there were all but 4 other customers in the downstairs venue through out the night. Also, they could have easily got the bottle from upstairs if requested. So my guests had spent well over $300 on this particular bottle and it was not counted.Another incident- upstairs there are little tables with free floating glass tops. As people walked through the very small venue (for its legal capacity), the glass tops were slowly moving around (not dangerously, but it was not safe- who’s problem is that?). My sister who was pregnant therefore not drinking was keeping her eyes on the glass and adjusting as necessary. The manager saw her do this and said she was ‘intoxicated’ and ‘creating an OH&S issue’ and kicked her out in a rude and aggressive manner. It was incidents like this all night that made it a horrible experience for no reason. I would not recommend treehouse to anyone who wants to host an event, or even to go there for a drink. Kremlin bar is owned by the same man, so don’t go there either.
