Visiting from Melbourne, a few friends suggested the newly opened brunch venue Highroad as our meetup point. The interiors were beautiful and their branding, their style, their name and business card, infused with inspiration from nature, reminded me strongly of Higher Ground back in Melbourne. I ordered their pork belly dish that came with a fried egg on a potato hash. Whilst my first reaction was to the serving size. My second, the visually stunning composition of the brightly hued components on the plate in front of me. The skin of the pork belly was rather chewy, but the rectangular prism of meat balanced well with the sauce and the potato. The egg was cooked to perfection. We shared their taro, coconut smoothie drink which was deliciously creamy, refreshing and sweet all at the same time.

Beautiful, large venue. Service was excellent and so was coffee. I didnt enjoy the salmon, the entire thing was room temperature and raw. I do like raw salmon but not as a large steak as this was. The egg was slightly over cooked and the jalapeo bread was so hard, impossible to cut and bite into. Salsa was nice and fresh and I did like the wasabi pure. Presentation was beautiful but overall a bit of a shame. Will order something else next time.

Great dishes, service, and coffee. Fitout looks good too. Servings are on the smaller side though (except for burgers which are very generous)
