Rubbish. Worst coffee and service i have ever experienced, these people should just do everyone a favor and close the shop

Great breakfast. Just had breakfast at this great cafe, hidden away in the Dickson shopping centre. It looks like a family run business, has a great menu, and very good coffee. I am always looking for interesting breakfast choices and their Praga Speciali was excellent. I’ll be back.

Best shakes in Canberra. I randomly decided to try Praga one Saturday when shopping at dickson at lunch time. I’m always keen to try a burger and shake and this was no exception.Their chocolate thick shake is probably the best I’ve ever tried in Canberra. They’re the same every time and amazing! I dragged my boyfriend down a week later because he had to try it and now we go to Praga about once a month to try something different on the menu and get a shake. Most recently I had the Chorizo and Mushroom melt which the description said was on a baguette covered in mozzarella. It was so much bigger than expected and very delicious! Would definitely recommend for a snack or lunch, the servings are usually quite big though, which is never a bad thing! allthe.me

Consistently good meals and generous portions. Praga Cafe has been a favourite of mine and my husbands for several years. Even after a three break away from the ACT, we found Praga to be just as good, if not better, upon our return. We’ve also brought several large groups here for brunch on a Saturday morning; there’s nothing nicer than sitting under the shady trees and enjoying my favourite, the Small Praga (which is anything but small!) Most meals come with a small quantity of onions which sets the meals apart from other places. If you don’t like them, you don’t have to have them.I’ve also had the Calabrese which I love and is delicious, but I generally can’t finish it; it’s so huge! Praga Cafe: please do a Small Calabrese and I’d be happy! But the food is excellent value for money and nowhere near as expensive as other cafes in Dickson or around. The coffee is consistently good, and the service is fast, efficient and friendly. It’s ‘order and pay at the counter’. This is always my preference for cafes, as it’s just one transaction, and particularly good for groups. My only small gripe is that they don’t take bookings, which makes it hard when I’m bringing a group to be confident that we’ll get a table. But we’ve never had any problems getting our tables, and the staff are always friendly and happy to help move tables into position for us. I’m also not a fan of TVs in cafes, but so many places have them these days so I’ve learned to switch off. It’s not loud so doesn’t bother me. I’d rather have background music but that’s ok.All in all, a fantastic experience at Praga everytime and very appetising and plentiful meals. Keep up the great work guys, you’ve got us for life! (or as long as we’re in Canberra).

We decided to give Praga a shot today (we normally go to Deli Marco and Hudson’s). We were a bit unimpressed – we thought it was table service, and the only way we found out we had to order at the counter was going and asking. We ordered the savory French toast and the eggs Florence. The food took about 35 minutes to come (a conservative estimate). The eggs Florence were quite nice (and well presented), but the serving size left a little to be desired – I got a (small) triangle of Turkish toast (6-7cm sides max), and then an ‘off cut’ (the end of the loaf) hidden beneath that (which was barely bigger than a 50c piece. The savoury French toast was done quite well (nice brioche), but were drowned in maple syrup (to be fair we could have asked for it on the side, but didn’t) – there were only 2 small pieces of bacon though :(The ‘savoury spice coating’ didn’t really work with the other flavours – in my opinion it tasted kind of artificial and the meal would have been significantly better without it.One good thing was the coffee – it was nice!

I chose to go with the pancakes after seeing the previous review not in favour of. There is only one way to do pancakes and bacon and that’s with lots of maple syrup. When the plate was brought out I was pleasantly surprised to see a stack of 5. My partner had chosen the egg calabrese which she thought was flavoursome and more than enough for me to finish off. Friendly staff and tasty food made for an experience to return again soon.
