Good food, service was great. How plain that sentence is reflects the lack of pretension in the Red Room. The steak was sublime, vegetables were perfectly cooked, seafood was as fresh as if just caught – and three hours by road to collect just caught seafood from Melbourne shows the dedication of Alburians. Even the dessert – a fresh, fairytale of pavlova roulade, or the chocolate mousse, or trio of ice creams could not force any pretentiousness here. And if they had some, it would be deserved. Applause all round!

2 stars for food only as it was quite alright. Experience was appalling . Had a reservation on a mid week night for my uncles birthday . Group of a dozen or so but clearly not worth the staffs efforts! Our table wasn’t even set with cutlery when we were seated and they rushed us through our meals and tried to push us out the door as quickly as possible so they could all go home! The decor is garish and tacky like something out of some Las Vegas casino .

Also known as ‘The Red Room’. The food was superb, especially the Duck a l’Orange entree, the Veal Rib Eye main and the Grilled Duck with Cherry Sauce main. Equal to the best we’ve eaten anywhere. The wine selection was excellent – both variety and quality. Service was faultless, and again equal to the best we’ve found anywhere. The ambience was excellent – classy, comfortable and quiet – mostly. The only downside was the almost continuous announcement of raffle and membership prizes over the PA system from the main area of the club. Although these announcements weren’t loud, they were continuous and irritating. Perhaps the club could turn the speakers off in the restaurant, then it would be perfect. We highly recommend The Red Room for a special evening out in Albury.

Disappointed!!!. As recent guests at a 50th wedding anniversary, my wife and I had our first Dining Room experience at this club. Prices were what you would expect to pay for quite a reasonable restaurant in the area, waiting staff were friendly and efficient, but the food was a huge disappointment. The pasta for my wife’s crab lingini was seriously overcooked and whole dish over powered by far too much garlic. My main course prawn and chorizo risotto was I think the very worst risotto I have had in my life. The rice was so far gone it was just a gooey mush. The chorizo might as well have been uncooked sliced salami from the supermarket and the whole dish was overwhelmed in flavour by an exceptionally large amount of rocket stirred through the sticky mess. Clearly as guests we were not in a position to complain about the food. But because the food was so under-whelming, for the first time ever in my life I have posted this review as my complaint about meals that did not deserve to be paid for by anyone.

Friendly, professional service and really great quality meals. Had Oysters Florintine, Followed by the Eye Fillet + Lobster Tail, and Black Forest Cake for dessert. Simple, and all delicious.
