very good service for such s busy day. good menu and very nicely presented food.my lamb was a little more done than i would prefer but i didnt ask for anything in particular so it was absolutely fine.chips were amazing!!
Got some takeaway pizza from here, the service was good and the pizzas came out fast. They where quite delicious and a group of us shared them. We also ordered some salads, which where good, and we had great Nutella Twists for dessert. Recommend for a casual snack or a meeting with friends!
I’ve been here twice now – once for pizza downstairs at ‘Downtown’ on an outside table and once more recently at the newly opened ‘Uptown’ space upstairs for a birthday dinner celebration. My first visit was pleasant and I remember enjoying the food (especially the starters we had and the gluten free pizzas we shared as a group of 4. My second visit was ok but I wouldn’t run back anytime soon – service was very slow (waiters were almost unsure of what was going on half the time) despite being under full capacity. I also found the decorations gaudy and distracting which, instead of looking ‘luxe and expensive’ cheapened the look and feel of the place as every bit of the tables were donned in faux gold. Our big group of 10 ordered some drinks and platters to share – these all came reasonably quickly but to our dismay our mains took >1hr. Food was quite good but wasn’t fantastic. Food knowledge by staff was also poor as when asked whether the ‘seafood platter’ was fried or grilled – we were told mostly fried and in fact when it was served was mostly grilled. By the end of our meal we were all fairly dissatisfied with our evening and were happy to move on elsewhere for drinks. I’ll give Uptown the benefit of the doubt that they had recently opened the upstairs portion where we had dinner however really need to educate their staff on the menu, ensure the kitchen can handle a larger capacity (if serving upstairs aswell as downstairs) and maybe rethink the lighting which was so bright there was little to no atmosphere.
