A free night meant that we could take the car out for a long city drive, hang around at Mrs Macquarie’s chair (if you haven’t seen the Sydney city views from here you are certainly missing out) and then make our way to Alexandria to try 4 ounces burger. I had heard a fair bit about 4 ounches, particularly regarding the ethical sourcing of all the ingredients at the burger dive, so I was really excited. This one had been on my list for ages!Brought to us by Rory Donnelley, previously chef at Cafe Del Mar (another great place to check out in Sydney!) and Mitch Coleman, 4 ounces brings together hip-hop influences with the burger menu, in a small corner space.
Very expensive burgers. They start at $12 and most are around $16 but theres nothing to put them at the top levels of Sydney burger joints. Ok beef but very thin patty (4 ounces might refer to the patty, which would mean its very small) and large chunks in it so maybe it wasnt so good. Good sauce, ok bun. They only accept credit cards. I think they need to be a lot better and/or cheaper to pull that off.
Stopped by chance and found this place to be surprisingly satisfying with very tender fried chicken and good sized burgers. Their sides were pretty decent and made the meal rounded.
