Lunch was great even though I have to go agains all this crazy SYDNEY rain that poured constantly today, and it was worth it!Whats not to love on cold weather? Soup! Yes once my eyes see this items on the menu, I knew it was the great option.Six hour organic brown rice congee, served with diced carrots, ginger, onion, chilli flakes and shallots. This dish were made my day, bang on flavour! It was nothing else to add in this congee, perfection!Since this is not your typical Asian kitchen, they served congee with torn rustic toasted bread, which is a little unusual for me, since usually congee usually served with fried bread sticks!Anyway, it was yum to the max and dont worry about the chilli cause its only in the background on the dish, you wont even feel the heat at all.The amazing Arifin Thai beef lemon grass, galangal, ginger, chilli coriander curry served with basmati rice.Well, this dish was ok but not as good as the congee, a little let down for me since the congee was absolutely delicious.Since Ive taste the chef skills on the first dish, I knew this dish wasnt prepare by the same person.Beef was falling apart, yet flavour loses the cooking process! Beef, plain and boring, doesnt have neither have tasty marinate or sweetness, so I am not sure but guessing the beef has been boiled or in pressure cooker separate with sauce, which is not making sense to me at all.Sorry Chef, I hope you checking today lunch batches as for me such a shame a great dish serve average.oh, I almost forget, the cold cup, it will cost you $7,Fig and Ginger rainwater kefir, to me taste like kombucha but a little sweet. Thanks Guys for a beautiful lunch today!
Though this place is pricy, Bread and Circus knows how to do brunch and do it well. All the food is well presented and will always leave you satisfied. Be prepared to wait however as this place is generally very packed, otherwise a very enjoyable cafe experience!
