Strangely, the beef is better. The first visit, I had the CCC signature burger, a huge burger with beef, chicken, bacon, onion, jalapeos, lots of cheese and a great sauce. Very messy but very worth $16. However, I wonder if the burger became greater than the sum of its parts, helped along by the special sauce. The fried chicken in the CCC seemed really flavoursome but wasn’t as good when I had a straight fried chicken burger – still good but certainly no Thirsty Bird. Ive also had the BBQ chicken – good but not as juicy as Id like, and pretty expensive but you can get it with crispy chips and good veggies and salad. I then held off on reviewing until I had a chance to try a straight beef burger and it had the great quality beef patty I remembered from the CCC – the only thing that would improve it would be if it were actually cooked medium rare as is promised on the menu – and a good overall flavour from sauce, cheese and pickles, and at $12, it should be placed in the same league as the top trendy burgers in Sydney (although if you want something big and messy, definitely go for the CCC.
