Overall, this is a nice little local wine bar. However, I think it can be better than it is. Talk about a wine list – amazing selection of wines. Pages after pages and great prices too. We had the Mendoza Malbec and it was reasonably priced for $55 a bottle for a 2014 bottle. So you won’t go wrong with the wine. Now the food, only 1 -2 pages of food menu and it is expensive! The menu is labelled as shared plates but frankly the food is a bit small to share. Food is very tasty though. We had the Beetroot risotto (a bit too al dente to border line undercooked), had steak medium rare- amazing! Truffle chips, good! Salad – a bit bitter. Dessert -ooooo! Amazing!!!Experience – great atmosphere, the owner is amazing and we enjoyed our evening. But I reckon it should be an Amazing wine bar with good inexpensive food rather than a mix of fine dining prices for food. Still a good place to visit

The food is great, however, for the high price the time management and general service is very sloppy. With the lengthy waits (over an hour between courses) and erratic service, at times, it felt like we were in an episode of Hell’s Kitchen before Gordon Ramsay steps in and has a stern word to the manager. If the older waiter is indeed the manager, he needs a lot of training in order to provide adequate guidance for his staff and he needs to greatly improve his own customer service skills when dealing with unhappy diners such as ourselves. On a positive note- the chef is very talented and the young wait staff are lovely.

Second time we’ve dropped in for a glass or two of wine – first time was fairly good, this time we were pretty much ignored. My partner got the end of a bottle of wine (looked like less than 100ml) – we waited for them to return to top it up to the stated menu quantity of 150ml for $15 (not cheap) – but it didn’t happen. We were hoping to order a second glass to try another couple of wines, but couldn’t get any attention – one of the staff was out the front chatting to friends, the other was sorting glasses and too distracted to serve anyone. Huge shame – this place could be seriously awesome.

Go to Europe without getting on a plane!. Wow…this place is a great find! We recently went all out for our anniversary dinner here and it was money well spent! The wine was expertly recommended and really complimented the meal..no…not meal….food experience! I really recommend Vinery Foods for the casual drop by on a high chair by the window to people watch/ or dress to the max and dine inside and soak up the lux atmosphere and gorgeous food. We’ve eaten all over the world and this is really up there with the best. I love the owner too , takes his time to get to know you

Absolute gem! Felt like I’d landed in the Venezia Region!. Fantastic atmosphere. Incredible selection of great wines and bubbles. I’m so glad I finally went inside. The wonderful team at the Venery were so happy and welcoming, we really didn’t want to leave in the end! Just what Annandale needs! Thank you for your hospitality!
