Appalling! Took a booking for 3 at 5pm then we arrived at 7pm to see a wedding reception of over 100 people lining for a meal. Told it would have been between 1-2 hours wait for food. No apologies.
Popped in for dessert and a drink recently. Didn’t start well with an overly officious doorman who seemed to think a snippy explanation about the fact that cold air intrudes on the 40 degree heat inside when the door is held open too long. Tip: if you are that concerned, do what they do in most cold climates – double door air locks. Having only just survived my felonious entry, I cracked the top of my creme brûlée with much anticipation, only to be sadly disappointed by a tasteless filling, easily bested by store bought custard in a carton.
Simple pub food done well. Enjoyed some good steaks and nice desserts served by friendly staff in a nicely refitted old pub with a comfortable, relaxed vibe.
Whitebull doesn’t really have outdoor areas but they’ve done the inside areas up well, partly modern, partly historic, with good furniture, and the staff are great. The food seems a bit expensive but my schnitzel was big with juicy chicken.
The venue has 2 sections, an affordable pub food menu and a more sophisticated, more expensive menu. In this way it appeals to both sides of us.The $12 steak lunch deal is our go toFood (4/5): GreatService (2.5/5): Usually quite slow and orders have been mixed up a little too many timesAmbience (4/5): Restaurant side is a chill vibe while pub side is for a sick time
