I have tried Brickworks three times now (thanks to my partners forgiving nature) and each time I have been extremely disappointed. On the first occasion we ordered delivery with an estimated delivery time of an hour and 15 minutes. Half an hour after the specified delivery time we called only to be told that the driver was stuck in traffic and would be 10 minutes. It is no exaggeration to say we live a 3 minute walk away (dont judge us, it was raining), but the staff member stuck by his story. After another 20 minutes we rang again only to find the phones had been turned off! Frustrated and hungry I went to the restaurant to find ours and 4 other paper take away bags of orders waiting on the counter to be collected by the driver. The staff member offered no apologies and tried to give me the order that was sitting there. I pointed out that he was trying to give me pizza that had been there for at least 45 minutes. He reluctantly made fresh pizzas and I was on my way. Fast forward a few weeks and my partner convinced me to give them another try, only we would choose pick up.Now Im not sure if this is how some people like it.. maybe its a delicacy to some.. but each ingredient was separated so it was only one ingredient per quarter…This is not written on the menu so maybe it was laziness or a practical joke? I was not impressed. But I am a push over Fool me three times right? The THRID time I let my partner persuade me, we had the same thing happen each ingredient on a different slice.WHY!?!The two pictures attached are from the two separate incidents.Irrespective of their conveniently close location, I wont be going back a fourth time.
Had time to killl.and after a big Australia Day I figured another coffee would probably be for the best. Walked up the street to where the staff greeted me.with a friendly hello and great service. Coffee was good, but the staff are what I’d return for.
Looks good and promising but as they say looks can be deceiving…The food was served cold, like I mean cold !. Service was a little slow which was strange considering the ore prepared food (another thing that irked me). Coffee was average and had no passion in itVery disappointing overall
Clarendon Pizza. Very nice vegetarian pizza with artichokes and eggplant
Pizzaaaaa or Panini. Great new cafe that has only been open for 3 months now. Has the industrial vibe feel with exposed brick walls and open plan kitchen. Have tried their chicken panini and that was great, toasted with rocket, semi dried tomato and Swiss cheese! Who knew all the flavours would sync. They have a large brick wood fired oven for their delicious pizzas! Dough is freshly made on site! Very authentic. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, however, its winter and its probably freezing outside! Coffee is good, Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of different specials everyday in their bain marie stand so definitely one to check out if you are in the area. Last week they had Rolled Pork Porchetta with roasted veggies……nom nom nom Delish!
