We went there yesterday and ordered rib with pickled cabbage pot. That was a disaster. The rib smelled like it had been seasoned in urine. I know it is like a featured smell for Australian pork (never had the same problem in China or USA), but most restaurants have a way to remove or cover it, or simply purchase meat from better sources. After the pot started boiling it felt as if we were sitting in a toilet. And for the pickled cabbage, which was a featured material in my hometown, there was hardly any. Very disappointing dish. I’m not giving a even lower score because the portion was really big, as one may expect for a Chinese Northeastern style restaurant. Plus, to be fair, except for being salty the other dish we ordered (di san xian, stir-fried egg plant, potato and capsicum) was authentic and tasty. We took at least half the ribs home. However I threw them away because there is simply no way to remove the ammonia smell. Probably won’t visit again.
