A little shop decked out with period chinese furnitures complete with chinese plaque overhanging period style gate set into one wall, it was already bustling before lunch. Obviously the locals love this shop. Some of the menu items do not have english translation, those that do; dont actually do justice to the actual dish proffered . Determined not to be undermined by a loosely translated menu, i sought the assistance of a young asian fellow who happened to speak english (yey!). Fujian dry noodles 4/5, a little follow the crowd here as most of the diners i saw were slurping away. Completely meatless, the (hand pulled?) noodles is lightly seasoned w peanut sauce among other things which i could not identify. Who cares when it tasted so good. Oyster omelette 3.75/5, dont expect singapore style ‘or chien’ (oyster omelette) please. Apparently this is the fujian version and they use frozen oysters, which worked as it meant this dish is available all the time. Omelette is fluffy, dish has a clean taste. We also ordered some meat buns/dumplings to go, not forgetting the ‘guo bian hu’ dish which was unlike anything i have ever seen or tasted before. Cant wait to try other items on their menu.

Very casual home cooking style place serving authentic fujian dishes: assortment of buns, noodle dishes, stir fried dishes… had their mini Fujian wantons- soupwas very flavoursome, fried oyster pie was a good side accompaniment to many of their soup noodles,Spicy mince noodles was large and right balance of Sichuan spicy. Very good place to taste food direct from Fujian.. came for breakfast, was great to have something different to the usual cafe fare. Don’t expect much service here, but they get (most) of the flavours of their dishes on point! Will be back to try their many other things on the menu.

This casual eatery offers good authentic taste of Fujian cuisine. A lot of their snacks are freshly made and the dishes are cooked to order. It is a new establishment but good tasty food beckon patronage. It was packed during lunch and a lot of the popular items were sold-out quickly. The service is very friendly. weekendnotes.com
