We ordered Lamb Kabsa takeaway for a feast for a gathering of more than 30 people and we enjoyed the food a lot. Lamb Kabsa was so delicious along with the Chilli Chutney they provided. In addition, the customer service is fantastic too. I would strongly recommend. Thank you Salam Cafe.
Don’t hesitate. Yes, the decor is terrible, but the food is awesome. I ordered the bariis mansaf and was totally blown away. I’ve never tasted lamb this good in my life. And the chilli dipping sauce is incredible. No idea what they put in it, but it beats anything from Nando’s. For just $15 I got several tasty chunks of lamb on a huge bed of rice, plus carrot & potato soup. 5 stars for the food, but I remove half a star for the ambience. Why? Because this place is like a cross between a mens’ canteen and some guy’s garden shed. It’s full of East African men, looking very relaxed. Maybe they should invite their wives round to give this place a makeover. It needs some loving care. The TV showing Arabic sports is ok, but I would love to hear Ethiopian music. Oh well, at least there’s no distraction from the food. If you can focus on the food, your tastebuds will be in paradise.
