My favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney! Have been going here for years. The Chicken Katsu roll, Grilled Salmon Lover roll, Cooked Tuna roll are a must! Tempura Udon is also really good. Staff are nice and friendly and I always feel like I am back in Japan when eating here. Only bad comment I have to unfortunately make is that when they are busy the service can be slow.
Tama Gawa is one of our favourite weekend lunch places. Always delicious and authentic Japanese, this quirky hole-in-the-wall place offers much more than sushi (which occupies a smaller part of the menu, anyway). Green tea soba is fabulous. Can’t beat the value for money, too – a light but filling lunch for two can easily fit below $30.
BEST UDON EVER. I have been coming here for a few years now and I can’t stop craving there udon! It is to die for, I can’t recommend it enough. I often get tempted to buy udon at other restaurants but it is never as satisfying, I can honestly tell you that Tamagawa do the best of the best. The price is very affordable and don’t forget the free tea they supply for you!!
Best Japanese in Sydney. This hidden gem of a restaurant is by far my favourite place to get authentic Japanese food. I used to live nearby and would visit regularly with friends up to once a week and now still make the 45 minute drive just to get my fix. My favourite thing to order here is the curry udon (never been able to find an equal for it and believe me, I’ve looked!) Rich, hearty soup filled with meltingly tender meat and silky udon noodles – it’s impossible to not burn yourself from delicious impatience! Their sushi is also beautifully fresh and great quality, can’t go wrong with their ramen or agedashi tofu either. But do yourself a favour and try the curry udon! cookingcrusade.com
I’m happy for the negative reviews.. I married a JAL stewardess. She brings her friends and family visiting from Japan here. The Japanese community she is connected to loves to come here. Service – very basic. Ambiance – forget it. (Don’t take any one here on a date.) Food – wonderful. Price – very good!So keep the negative reviews coming . . .they will keep the crowds away and the price down.

Good, but not the best. The noodles are misleading compared to the original japanese style, compared to few proper japanese resturants which ran by japanese not korean, the food is acceptable
